Reality is that oil output is still below the level prior to the U.S. invasion and that Iraq has not seen one drop of prosperity since the U.S. occupation, and oil prices continue to rise and fluctuate as they always have at the whims of oil company shareholders. We have alternatives for fuels now, why is it you think automakers are completely making a switch today? Because consumers are sheep, and until it hurts, deep, deep in their pocket books they will never change their ways.
