I stand amazed at how many people throw the name “God”
around for the sake of their own personal belief, or agenda as it suites their
needs or special interests.
If I had to guess, I’d say 90% have never read their own
faith’s book from cover to cover, nor do they have any understanding as to the
context, by whom, and when it was written.
So that’s what we end up with on a daily basis –
“Situational Ethics” is what most humans adhere to. I believe most people want
to do good, follow their spiritual laws or beliefs, obey their own government’s
written rules and laws – but on any given day or moment they part from those as
it suits their needs.
Example, “I’m in a hurry to get to work, so it’s okay for me
to drive 20 miles an hour (or kilometers) over the posted speed, endangering
everyone else.” It’s raining, I don’t want to get wet so it’s okay to park in
that handicap or no-parking zone.” I’m afraid of homosexuality so it’s okay to
“hate” those people, my God says so.” “Those people don’t believe in my
religion so it’s okay to persecute them.”
And of course, in the name of “God,” or a miss-interpreted
amendment/constitution, it’s just fine to put fear into the masses over
common-sense gun control efforts.
Open your eyes. Start looking behind the “why” we are
letting others lead us like sheep, since the time and creation, collection and
final editing of the Christian bible during the time of Emperor
Constantine, through present day. Special
interested groups, corporations, oil companies, the National Rifle Association,
and countless others who have an agenda or product to sell, all beholding to no
religious ideology, only their shareholders. They’ve been profiting from the
backs and hard work of common people since the beginning of time, praying on
their ignorance or complacence when it comes to seeking the truth or facts for
themselves.
There’s no problem with guns in the hands of everyone,
there’s no issue with the environment for so called “climate change,” oil is
our salvation, and the “situation” is just fine.
